Insulated replacement

This is a replacement insulated water tank for my current camelbak. I've washed it several times with soap and again with a mixture of baking soda and then clean water. After drying, the smell in the tube is quite strong, especially with every first sip of water. The first sip makes my stomach sour, and now I spit out the first sip. Maybe it will resolve itself over time.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Great for paintball

Bought this for paintball and it helped a lot. Easy to fill with plenty of water and I love that the straw has a built in on and off valve. It disassembles for cleaning and drying, and makes it easy to replace the part if something becomes damaged. It has the typical "vinyl" taste but does fade after a few uses (and also why you should wash it before use), overall a great product. The only complaint would be that it needs something to hold it open while drying. (I use an old pill bottle)

Pros
  • Great for small houses
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Can't remove chemical taste from plastic

I bought a nameless bladder and threw it away because it made the water taste so bad no matter how I cleaned it. I decided I had to buy camelbak. I did this in 2016 and had the same problem with camelbak and cleaned/soaked it twice thoroughly to get rid of the plastic taste. I put up with it because this bladder and tube combo comes in very handy when fishing and I only use it about 12 times a year. But this summer I started using it more often and the terrible plastic taste became unbearable…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Purchased to replace the old 2 liter Antidote tank in my older generation Camelbak Rogue. The new quick-release drinking tube is an improvement for cleaning and removing the tank from the packaging. My only complaint is that unlike my old Antidote tank, this new Mil Spec version doesn't have two little levers on the handle/hole to help hold it open while it dries. I don't know if this is something they just don't do for the mil spec version, or if all of the new Antidote tanks don't have…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some bugs

Mil Spec in Action: Camping

Camelbak Mil Spec Antidote is a fantastic hydration bladder. Got a 2L from Revain US at a great price with shipping to Australia. Just got back from a 2 week boarding trip in Japan in amazing powder snow with an average temperature of around -15C (down to -37C with wind) and it worked absolutely brilliantly. Of great importance for water bladders in extreme cold is the ability to empty the mouthpiece and hose, which is essential, otherwise the water in the hose and bit will freeze. The Mil Spec

Good product! Needs some tweaking

I have two of these. I have used CamelBak products for many years. However, I found a design flaw with this product. The hook holding the CamelBak in the backpack was a bug and the reason they both leaked. When I hooked one of my backpacks, they leaked. The plastic hook is not strong enough to support the weight of a filled CamelBak. It actually pulls the screw on the cap away from the female end of the cap, creating a leak. If you put the CamelBak in a backpack without a hook mount, it will…

  • This is amazing

Recommend Camelbak Omega

I am comparing this to the 70oz Camelbak Omega MIL SPEC reservoir which it replaced. The Omega tank is sold cheaper at Revain. Might be a little difficult to open. But when you close it, it's really strong and you know it won't leak or open accidentally. I was very surprised how little force it takes to open and close this item. I am sure that at some point I will have a very wet backpack. I bought MIL SPEC because I use it for things like cross country skiing in cold weather and it can fall on

Really life saving

Camelbak antidote chambers have always been quite expensive which I've never been able to buy before although I've always wanted one. I bought an unbranded bladder here and after only 2 uses the tube started leaking and I couldn't use it anymore. Finally threw the dust and got camelbak. First thing I liked was that it was translucent so you could see how much water you had left when you checked your eyeball. My previous one was completely opaque. This way you can also check for signs of mold or

Very good camelbak bladder, strong construction, holds a lot of water

Excellent camelbak bladder. Much stronger plastic and construction than non-Mil cameras. 70 ounces hold quite a bit of water. It fits perfectly in my small Dakine backpack and takes up the entire backpack. It does the job. First I bought 50 ounces. a bladder that I returned because it had a hole; 50 ounces seemed very small back then, but that would have been enough for me. The insulated tubing is long enough to run across the body, even when connected to the hydration reservoir and routed…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
