Replacement Hopkins 48735 4 pin weatherproof dust covers work great. I wish I had known this many years ago. There are 2 packs, one for the car and one for the trailer. Clean the connectors well and put some dielectric grease on them before the cover and it will last a long time. I was tired of polishing the clamps and scraping off the green dirt every time I wanted to tow a trailer. I don't use a trailer very often, so most of the time the terminals are in Michigan. They are inexpensive and save lives to keep your terminals clean. They have built in cut outs to fit on the side of the car but need to be fitted opposite the trailer. The strap is designed to attach to the fork by pulling. One connector already had a recessed groove for this, the other didn't. You can just put it on a wire and it will work just fine. However, if you do this by removing the cap, it can easily slide down the cable out of reach. Seems to last for years.
