Liquitex offers excellent value for money. A bottle goes a long way. Regarding artwork, I've found that using this product alone tends to distort the medium I'm using. So I first use a different type of sealer (Krylon Spray or Mod Podge) and then apply Liquitex High Gloss Varnish to give my work a glossy look. 3 or 4 coats of polish really boost the shine to a high gloss. I find it important to let my work dry completely before applying another coat of varnish. If I work too impatiently, the paint usually flakes off. How long to wait between shifts? In my experience at least 8 to 10 hours, optimally 15 hours. I apply the polish with a foam rubber thingy and make sure to rinse it well under hot water after use. So the application is a bit complex, but not overly complex. I can highly recommend Liquitex High Gloss Varnish. I have not found a shinier product than resin which is very expensive and requires a complex process.
