Twice as long to install - not an exact replacement for OEM

Unit will install on a 2004 Honda Odyssey with some minor issues - this is not an exact OEM replacement. It is important that the cable does not fall and eventually cut through the sheet metal. Two cable clamps had to be moved from the original cable to the new cable. One clip is inserted into the electrical connector and the other clip is inserted around the wire about 3 inches from the connector. I used a flat jewelry screwdriver (very small) to poke it between the connector and the clip to loosen the clip. I used the same jeweler's screwdriver to loosen the latch on the wire clamp. 2) The cable on the new device is not long enough when it is unpacked. In the new block, the cable was taped to the motor about 3 inches from where it connects to the motor. I removed the tape and used fresh electrical tape to attach the wire to the motor about 1/2 inch from the motor connector. The extra two inches or so was enough for the cable to attach to the door like the original. Please note that the original cable was connected to the motor and the new unit was hardwired. Once it was plugged in, the cables could be swapped out to fix the problem. 3) The 10mm bolts that attach the motor to the door frame are quite short, but the original bolts are three times as long. The new engine mounts do not fit the old, longer bolts. So for the initial installation I used the longer original screws to make installation easier and then replaced the longer screws with the shorter screws that came with the unit. Also note that the screws were nickel plated while the originals had a brass finish. After the modifications, the device worked well and so far there have been no problems. It would be nice to get a block that looks like an OEM block. It could be done for what seems like a small change I'd happily pay for. So the installation took twice as long. Dorman, look out. Include clips in the package at least if you don't want to cost labor to install on your device.
