Unfortunately this item did not work well on my monitor resulting in a distorted image on the screen. I plugged my old frayed cable back in and the picture was perfect. Put the new one back in and the picture goes bad again. The picture could not be improved by changing the settings on my computer. I wanted a new cable as the old one was frayed near the connector. A friend gave me a cable that had an extra one and it worked. I hate leaving negative reviews so I hope this is just a faulty product. Not worth returning as it is less than $7, disappointed nonetheless.
