The reviews were good overall so I took a chance. As soon as you unpack it you can see that this is a very cheap cable, which doesn't bother me for my limited needs. As soon as I took the cable out of the packaging, I saw that one end of the jacket was not inserted into the connector housing, with a cut sleeve and a frayed inner harness. It looks like a factory defect that was thrown in the trash, collected and sold here. Buy elsewhere. Don't waste your time.

Unfortunately this item did not work well on my monitor resulting in a distorted image on the screen. I plugged my old frayed cable back in and the picture was perfect. Put the new one back in and the picture goes bad again. The picture could not be improved by changing the settings on my computer. I wanted a new cable as the old one was frayed near the connector. A friend gave me a cable that had an extra one and it worked. I hate leaving negative reviews so I hope this is just a faulty…

I just wanted a thinner black cable to replace the thick white cable which is annoying. It was a bad idea and I should have read the reviews first as like others it only supports low resolution. When I plugged it into a display, it not only resulted in a low resolution, but also messed up the desktop icons and rendered the screen completely unreadable. Setting it to a higher resolution then resulted in a blank screen and a message saying it's not supported. I was afraid nothing would work when…
