Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Streamlight 44910 Waypoint 1000-Lumens Spotlight: Powerful Yellow Beam with AC Charger by Marco Roberson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy construction with very bright light beam

I have a replaceable C battery version with 12v power cord primarily for use on my boat. Impressive build quality - solid but not heavy. Using my cheap light meter, I measured 95,000 candelas of center beam output using a 12V power cord, C-type alkaline batteries, or AA lithium batteries (with C-cell adapters). The manufacturer's specification of 100,000 is certainly appropriate. I measured 7200 vs 7900 on the low end. It draws 2 amps from the internal battery. This is a pretty serious drain on C alkaline batteries, so I'd expect the brightness to drop off fairly quickly. I plan to use lithium or rechargeable AA NiMH batteries with C adapters, which can handle that pull better, albeit much smaller. It draws 0.85 amps from an external DC power source. Pros - Power trigger that can be pressed lightly to light up instantly, or a little harder to lock. - Separate mode switch instead of having to (annoyingly) repeatedly press the power button - 12V DC car or boat power cord (rechargeable version didn't allow charging or changing batteries on my boat) - Consistent high beam with greatly reduced edge light (less glare by objects in the foreground) - Wall bracket included - Comfortable in the HandCon: - This model is splash-proof and dust-proof, but not submersible.
