Review on TRIWONDER Outdoors Mochilas Marathoner Hydration by Ron Houston

Free hands! Can carry enough fluid and fuel for my first full marathon workout.

I've wanted a vest like this for a long time. I've run two long runs (10 miles each), two medium runs (7 and 5 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles) with it since it came in the mail. This vest frees my hands but I can still carry it around. 2 packs of Cliff Energy Blok (in top left zippered pocket), salt (small top right pocket), phone (bottom left pocket), extra Gatorade water bottle between Cliff Bloks (bottom right pocket), keys (bottom left deep pocket) ) . Lightning). Also, the backpack has a bladder with a tube that goes through the top and over the shoulder. I also mix Nuun salt tablets with water that I add to the hydration bag (pre-mix separately due to the pressure). counts). The hook on the upper front chest buckle is designed to prevent the hose from moving while running. The top buckle seems to come loose when running with the tube attached. I tie the excess strap around me to keep it from coming loose. The top strap is elastic, but the bottom and side straps are not. I also like that the angled mouthpiece rotates on the whistle so there's always an opportunity to rotate the mouthpiece so it doesn't stretch no matter how the whistle rests on your body. not straight down, but diagonally up. The side straps are good, but since I'm small they don't seem to tighten as much as I'd like (I like the tight fit). They're good enough, but I'd like an inch more. However, not much. The downside to only having one side strap instead of two (like branded vests) is that the fit can be tighter with two separate side straps (top and bottom). Actually what I just love about this vest is that most of the time it still needs a strap somewhere (maybe low under the arm) to keep it from hanging around the collarbone area. Sometimes I find myself grabbing the ground and pulling it down. That won't stop me from buying again. The hydration bladder is a little tricky to fill simply because the hole is difficult to keep open and the plastic has to be squeezed to stay open. I'm afraid I'll break it. I protect my hydration bladder from mold by emptying it after use and then freezing all parts until next use. The tube is separating from the pouch and the only thing I noticed on two of my first three runs was that the tube wasn't fully engaged with the hydration pouch after being filled and plugged in during the course ride. Could it be the journey or just me? The main issue I had with the backpack was the need to "refill" the tube before starting a run. I hold the pouch over the whistle's mouthpiece and squeeze the mouthpiece to expel the excess air. As long as the hose is pointing down, there is no air in the hose. This helped because the first time I needed water while running, I didn't have to worry about sucking all the air out first (and trying to run). The reason I bought the vest was to keep my hands free and hydrated while running long distances. I was tired of lugging around a water bottle, phone (for music and trackers) and gas on long runs. I've just started planning the training (and refueling) for my FIRST full marathon next year. I LOVE the vest!
