And this is one of the first fur coats we gave her that she not only hates. The problem isn't wearing the garment, it's that she has very short fur and doesn't rub it properly when she moves in the coat and soon she's choking and pinching her back and then she starts begging to get rid of it . Because it's trimmed with fabric that resembles a sleeping bag, it slips over her coat and she wears it comfortably. It's even comfortable enough to sleep in. I measured her, she is a 38# Bull Terrier mix with a 15 inch neck, 17 inch back and 25 inch chest, and then I chose the smallest size they had, Large. It arrived quickly. The fit at the neck is actually a little loose, but the sizing is on the lower end of the range. Otherwise I think it suits her very well. The workmanship is great - I see no flaws. The buttons at the neck and for attaching the belt are metal - maybe not the best, but strong enough. how athletic my girl's chest is. The tweed upper wraps almost completely around the leg, but the strap is too narrow to cover most of her rib cage, so it looks a bit odd (IMHO) and leaves her chest a bit exposed. she likes the "cloak" because it flutters - they didn't fasten it so she finds it distracting and something to play around with; I reprimanded her twice when I caught her with it in her mouth. So I'll attach them, maybe with a few stitches, but I can use double-sided heat fusing to permanently tie the cape to the body - I don't know yet. In theory, if I sew a little, I can turn the two flaps into pockets that open with "slits" at the top. It can be handy to have pockets on it. Perhaps the company itself should think about it? Anyway, I'm happy with it (and think the $20.99 price tag is fair) and would happily recommend it, but I think they could make some small improvements.
