The brake and turn signal cables connect with simple connectors but the unit also needs a power source and for that you need to run a power cable in the engine compartment so you can connect it to the battery. The instructions suggest two ways to do this: a) drill a hole in the body and run the cable along the underside of the car, or b) rip out half of the interior trim to run the cable through the passenger compartment. Neither would be considered "plug and play" in my opinion, and both require a lot more work than I would call "very easy". If it had been in the product description, I would not have bought it. I'm not sure how well it will work once installed, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to mess with it. It'll probably come back.
