Review on 🖨️ Bowden Universal Geared 3D Printer with Extruder by Ryan Koser

This extruder is designed for multiple printer brands and models but I was hoping the focus in the product description would be on the Ender 3 lies that it works on Ender 3 V2 without modification. However, I had to modify the stock extruder mount by enlarging the two mounting holes to offset the motor a few millimeters on the mount. This allowed the open white gear on the extruder to clear the z-axis auger. I'm currently at about 20 hours on the extruder and it's a significant improvement over the stock extruder. I have had no feeding issues, noise or gearing issues. There is no lube included and I use a small amount of lithium grease with ease. Once you have your extruder set up, I definitely recommend it. Another issue you will encounter with the Ender 3 V2 is the change in E-Steps. Creality used the new screen on the V2 and therefore the firmware is not as easy to work with as on the older Ender 3s. E-Step 425 worked perfectly for my printer. (Start at 415 and measure how much is extruded.) However, you can only set the E-Steps up to 186 directly on the printer. Your options are: 1. Use a terminal and set up the E-Steps and save the values to the printer. In this case, the current Crealty firmware saves the settings on the SD card. If you remove the SD card, your saved settings will be lost. That's what I do I am using OctoPrint and I installed an SD card just to save the printer settings.2. Add an E-Steps value to your G-code for everything you type. For example, add it to your slicer so that it is added to all your prints.3. Use third party firmware or create your own firmware.
