I had to replace an 8 year old Fellows shredder for my home office that finally bit off more than it could chew. The maximum number of pages it can shred has recently been drastically reduced, with a corresponding increase in noise levels. So it was time for an exchange. I carefully researched replacement options and settled on this bonsai based on positive feedback on the shredding abilities and noise level (noise was my deciding factor). I've only had the chopper for a few days but am very happy with my purchase. It destroys everything I throw at it (paper, maximum 12 pages, credit cards and CDs). Everything was almost shredded into microparticles (I even thought it was a cross-cut shredder). But most importantly, the thing is quiet. That's just part of the noise from my old comrades. I don't have a decibel meter, but it definitely meets the 58dB rating. When it first launched I wasn't even sure if it worked. Long term reliability has yet to be determined but first impressions are that this is an amazing shredder! Update: After 2+ years I still love this shredder. But what's even better, Bonsaii's customer service is responsive and fully backed by their 3-year warranty. My shredder would not turn off 2.5 years after the 3 year warranty expired. It still ground well, but I had to manually turn it off when it was done. I contacted Bonsaii support about the issue; and after a little research, they discovered that the device was defective and beyond repair. They immediately processed a brand new replacement at no cost to me. It arrived quickly and works perfectly. It's nice to do business with a company that stands firmly behind its product.
