Works well. I've only had it for about 1.5 months, but everything is working fine so far. A pressure of 30psi works best. Once the regulator is set at 30psi, you can open/close the regulator's needle valve to provide any desired flow rate. I can't imagine this would work very well with homebuilt CO2 systems. You really need decent, steady pressure above 20psi. Algae is starting to build up on my white disc, so I'll probably have to clean it soon. I'm not sure how easy and efficient this will be. The speed of my bubble counter is about 1 bubble per second. I think this diffuser could handle 4 bubbles per second fairly easily. I'm not sure how much higher it can go. Oh, I forgot to mention: A big bonus for me was that since it uses a suction cup, you can install it anywhere in the aquarium. I installed mine as low as possible, closer to the bottom of the tank, below my filter outlet. This way the CO2 stays in the tank longer and is carried through the tank before reaching the surface. Other diffusers that hang from the back of the aquarium are not as flexible in terms of mounting locations. UPDATE 1 year later: I still like the diffuser itself, but the included suction cup stopped working after a few months. I've had it hanging from the bottom of my aquarium for quite a while and it's only now that I realized that the suction cup can be replaced. Today I put in another suction cup and found that the original was very hard (like hard plastic). Mine was white and I noticed the picture is clear on Amazon so they may have fixed that issue by now.
