What I mean by title: First, let me explain what a chair is and isn't. This chair is designed as a work/office chair. It's designed to correct your posture and get you to sit up straight, using a buoy-like base to balance your position in a chair and activate your core and back muscles. This is ideal for people who value their posture and also want a stylish conversation starter chair for their home or work space. This is especially useful for those who understand that sitting needs to be done for hours - it's a chair, not a LayZBoy. Keep in mind that the chair is fairly light, has a handle that gives it about 5 inches of extra height, and works well on both carpet and hard floors. need to understand that this is not a typical office chair or seat. It is designed for several hours at a time. The reason I say this is because, like most ergonomic chairs, they are purposely uncomfortable when your posture deteriorates. If you have trouble adjusting to your posture, this chair may not be for you. I've found the best way to use this is to sit in an upright position on the edge of a chair and adjust it so your feet are comfortably on the floor. In my opinion it shouldn't feel comfortable after sitting for a long time due to the seat tilt and your upright position. It either forces you to get up, move and straighten your position. While I really like that fact about this chair, I've noticed that if I'm stubborn enough to continue sitting, it can cause discomfort in my tailbone. This is mainly because I sit absolutely straight and the lack of movement in the buttocks and legs causes anxiety and discomfort. If you were to recline in your chair, as you would in a standard writing chair (lower back resting on the bottom of the chair), you would probably immediately notice how hunched and uncomfortable you feel in this chair. TL;DRMit says it all, here's why I like and dislike this chair. This stylish and unique "ergonomic" chair is designed for those who understand that they cannot sit in it for hours. I'm giving it 4.5/5 stars just because I wish the pad was a little better for those with tailbone pain.
