I wouldn’t consider these to be specifically for toy boxes/chests but more along the lines for a vehicle that uses these for a replacement strut on a hatch. Either way with some ingenuity I managed to make them work for a toy chest that I made. They seem extremely durable and seem to work very well if you have the tools to make them do so. They easily lifted a 40 pound wood lid on the chest without giving out or compressing the slightest bit. They are fairly easy to close without it slamming or making any noise. I was overall satisfied with the purchase and would buy the product again if I find myself needing some more for whatever reason.
