Review on Cramer CRA 40407 EN Profiling by Nick Narvasa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Makes one of my least favorite DIY tasks easier! Too bad I didn't find them years ago

I think I can do small DIY projects myself so I sealed quite a bit. I learned to do it the old fashioned way, freehand, carefully applying a line of caulk to the desired width and shaping it with a wet finger. For those who don't do this often enough to get the correct gauge of cord the first time, it's messy and very time consuming. Before resealing my shower I watched a video where a guy recommended this profiling kit and I LOVE these tools! Select the desired seal line shape, pass a profiling tool over the fresh seal line and voila, the excess is removed leaving a perfect seal line. Yes, it takes a little practice to get the exact result you want, but that goes for any tool. The profilers themselves are made of high-quality silicone, thick enough to gently scrape off excess caulk, but thin enough to flex if the corner you're filling consists of two walls that aren't perfectly flat and in a perfect 90- degree angle. And you can leave almost no sealant in the joint, or a narrow, medium, or wide line, or even lines that curve inward or outward. There are even tools to help you make clean corners and a scraper to remove sealant. And being an engineer at heart, I love the fact that they are easy to clean (just wash or wipe the sealant off the silicone profiles) and they all fit neatly back into the case until the next use.
