Description of Cramer CRA 40407 EN Profiling

The Original: CRAMER Profiling Tools – made in Germany. Professional Tool Kit for removal and renewing silicone joints. Kit contains 5 sealant finishing tools, 2 guides and a caulk removal tool with 3 interchangeable metal blades. Everything in a practical storage box. Removal of old sealant: Old silicone joints can be removed with the CRAMER silicone removal tool and the saw blade, for residues use the scraping blade (incl. replacement blade). Simple silicone caulking with guides: 5 sealant smoother with 16 needed profile variants and 2 guides. The cleverly attached guides help bridging intersections and prevent any subsidence when working at these intersection grout lines. All sealant tools have tool edges at 90° angle: The only way to ensure that the corners are also properly grouted!. Processing without soapy water: The caulking is carried out much easier in small sections – additionally, blemishes can be simply reworked without removing the existing joint. With this Kit the most complex silicone profiling becomes child's play. Delivered in a practical plastic box – all tools stored in one place, so that nothing gets lost!.

No more silicone without

First, the included removal tool made removing clear silicone a tolerable task. I can't imagine that everything would have gone well otherwise. To be honest it was about 80% of the work - preparing and cleaning the surface. The shaving tool made it easy to cleanly cut the old silicone's bond with the glass and tiles, and then use the serrated attachment to grab and pull out the loose silicone. Once everything was sorted out, the app's tools made it easy to select the bead size you need for the…

Also works great for the uninformed

I don't know what I'm doing but this kit has allowed me to create a professional looking silicone weatherstripping in my kitchen. Tools effectively remove excess silicone and are easy to clean. The highlight of the set is a knife specifically designed to remove old sealant or sealant. This was particularly helpful in clearing my scores as I learned how to use the set, which took about 20 minutes of practice, starting with complete inability. Much better results than my finger and glass cleaner.

Pros
  • Remove old sealant: Old silicone seams can be removed with CRAMER silicone remover and a saw blade, use a scraper blade (including a spare blade) for residues.
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Do-it-yourself pro results

Love love LOVE this product! I have also recommended it to others. If you don't know how to use this tool, I really recommend Youtuber CharlieDIYte's guide: How to Apply Silicone - The COMPLETE Guide for Pros. This is where I learned about this tool, this is where I learned how to apply silicone, and this tool and guide will have you going pro in no time! I like multiple tools for different sizes and edges. I still find this doesn't work well when the tile itself is uneven - you can sometimes…

Pros
  • Easy Silicone Guided Seal: 5 smoothing seals with 16 desired profile options and 2 guides. Cleverly placed guides help bridge crossings and prevent sagging when working on those grout lines. All mortising tools have 90° blades: this is the only way to properly fill the corners!
Cons
  • Discontinued

I think I can do small DIY projects myself so I sealed quite a bit. I learned to do it the old fashioned way, freehand, carefully applying a line of caulk to the desired width and shaping it with a wet finger. For those who don't do this often enough to get the correct gauge of cord the first time, it's messy and very time consuming. Before resealing my shower I watched a video where a guy recommended this profiling kit and I LOVE these tools! Select the desired seal line shape, pass a…

Is silicone "sealed " differently in Europe?

I used it for silicone caulking, not grout for which it is intended. Most profiles have a straight cross-section. There is a curved profile that looks the same as the 1/4 inch radius common in the US. And a curved profile that's huge, maybe a 1/2 inch radius. And narrow, narrow and narrow crooked. A narrower one will work with a seam where there is a gap in the material so that enough sealant is put into the seam for gluing. I need a larger than 1/4 inch radius profile that a seasoned pro can…

Pros
  • Remove old sealing compound: Old silicone seams can be removed with a CRAMER silicone remover and saw blade, use a scraper blade (including a spare blade) for residues.
Cons
  • Available in black only.
