Unit #3 works (for now)

I ordered this KVM via a PC connection but wanted to warn potential buyers. My first device was defective immediately. The video didn't show at all, just a black screen. I've spent a lot of time testing different computers and monitors to make sure the cables etc are fine and the KVM is defective. The second block seemed to work. This one had a bad USB port for connecting to a third computer, so anything plugged into it had no keyboard or mouse controls. So in a sense it was a 3-port KVM. My current 3rd block seems to be working. There is an HDMI video output, all 4 ports have a working USB, but the following problems have arisen: the device seems to switch randomly from the PC I'm working on to another PC that hasn't touched for a couple of hours became. I don't know why that could be. Another issue is that I have a Raspberry PI with Android TV connected to this KVM and when it is the PC selected when booting to KVM the video is displayed correctly and the mouse/keyboard works fine. However, if I switch from RPI to another PC and then back to RPI, I get a black screen and the video never comes back until I reset the RPI and stay on that port. I may need to adjust the video settings on the RPI, but if it's working natively there shouldn't be a problem toggling and then back again. In general, this device works, but there are problems. I've had multiple KVMs over the past 20 years and have never experienced an accidental KVM switch to another PC. I have no idea why this device. I may return this device if it becomes a nuisance.

Pros
  • Two USB 3.0 hub ports allow USB peripherals to be shared between connected computers
Cons
  • Slightly damaged
