This rating is based on the fact that I had it for a short time. These lights are very bright - I don't have any corals so I can't say how they will affect it. They have a dial for white and one for blue, so you can adjust it to suit your needs and disable any of them. These lights aren't for the hobbyist who wants the full programmability of much more expensive lighting solutions, but if you're willing to hook them up to a timer then you're done. They come with hangers so all you have to worry about is where to hang them. What I like best is that they can be daisy-chained (no more than three) which greatly simplifies cable management. The fans are pretty quiet, but that can be masked by the old Iwaki pump I have under the tank. In general I am satisfied with the purchase.
