We used to use the key fob to locate my Bug dog, it worked fine but when it was out of bluetooth range it didn't work. We were excited about the new "Found" tag with GPS capability. We've been using it for about a month and it works great, when the battery needs charging the app will send you a notification. She didn't run away but I checked where she was on the app and she was right there. It's a great size for such a big occasion, we clipped it to her harness and it still hasn't fallen off and I feel confident it won't happen. If you're afraid of losing your best friend on a hike or trip, buy one and you won't be disappointed.
