Yes it is 100% cotton. Yes, he is soft. HOWEVER, two main questions. #1 - Once you wash the covers in warm water they shrink to the point where you have trouble tucking them into the pillowcase. Once you manage to stuff them, the pillows become so tight that the pillows become "hard". Imagine stuffing 3 pounds of trash into a 2 pound bag. You get drift. TO.2. Question: Not sewn exactly. I don't know how they did it, but half of them (3 out of 6) are crooked. Great price but I would pay 3x for 100% cotton straight and preshrunk covers so the sizes really do fit my standard pillows. Pooh.
