I like the engineering of this system. The biggest problem is that it's a hybrid of previous Samsung systems. Again, the technology is good, but maintenance is problematic. When I look for problems, I usually end up solving a previous iteration. Although the solutions are similar, this new product should have its own support. It is good that it covers my 4 storey house well but with problems. Most of them relate to the small details of networking. Most elements on your network these days get a network address via DHCP, which means the router assigns them one, but they can be assigned different numbers for a variety of reasons. In my experience, if you have assigned static IPs, they don't work, so they need to be changed to DHCP. I still have problems with some devices (IP cameras) after switching them to DHCP. They tend to fall off the grid. I haven't done all my homework yet, but I think some devices are having an issue with hotspots sharing SSIDs. Another problem is that there are sensor vendors that claim to work with SmartThings, but maybe not with this product. I've tried several sensors that won't pair. I also tried some of these pairs but got disabled. Smartthings lists compatible products such as NEO sensors. Not all NEO sensors are compatible. And not all irises. I think once I understand the system better and set it up everything will be fine. I understand that most professional security companies don't want to support a system that they haven't configured. However, I hope there will be a 24x7 answer at some point. There is a SmartThings ADT hub, but it requires special sensors that don't have a good reputation. Later more.
