Good wifi extender. Terrible center of intelligent things.

Wi-Fi extender function works fine. I have almost complete house coverage with only 1 unit per 3000m². Feet of a 2 story house. But the center of intelligent things is a different story. It failed to connect to my Schlage Connect Lock or GE Z Wave External Plug. I went to Best Buy and bought a Smart Thing Hub and the above devices connected without any problems. So this Wi-Fi hub plus smart thing is now just a Wi-Fi extender. Also, the Wi-Fi hub does not have a Z-Wave opt-out feature. It took a

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this upgrade. It was worth reinstalling

Updated from the previous version. The update caused a big headache. I had to start from scratch. I've read a lot of feedback from people criticizing this new version of SmartThings Hub. I have to strongly disagree with the idea that there is no difference between the second and third versions. About 80 devices are connected to my hub. With version 2, my devices kept disconnecting. I often had to call tech support to find out why my devices weren't working. With the third version I had very few

LOVE IT! Always wanted a smart hub but never bought one. Also, I need a WiFi mesh network and router to handle my crappy WiFi signal to specific devices and areas of my house/outside. It works great and has changed day and night! Also, I finally have a smart hub! I can now buy zwave/zigbee devices and am very excited. Great product to kill birds with one stone! I only bought 1 unit pack for $117 that claims to cover 1500 sq ft. feet, and my house is only 1,850 square feet. ft. This solved all…

The world is better than the competition

I've had this hub for a long time and it does exactly what I want it to do. I decided to buy my dad a GE switch for Christmas and got him a Wink hub instead because it was sold out at the time. Then I found out that Wink charges $5 per month just to access their hub, which is comparable to this one. On top of that I couldn't get it to work and I'm still waiting for them to contact me to see how it works. I ended up returning it and repurchasing it for my dad and it works great. No stress. No…

Highly recommended wifi and smart home hub

I just moved to a new location and was looking for smart home router and hub products. After reading several reviews and comparing it to other products, I decided to give Smartthings WiFi Mesh a try. It's been about 10 days since I started using this product and so far the experience has been amazing. The installation process is so simple and easy. All I had to do was install the Smartthings app and follow the instructions. I like the connectivity features for smart home devices. I have a…

Wi-Fi and Z-Wave are both reliable and stable

Spectrum-supplied cable modem installed in new condo after multiple false starts; The wireless router they provide is never installed; Anyone need a doorstop? Don't worry because I ordered this device. First an Ethernet cable connection to a Spectrum cable modem, then a Samsung device that can be easily installed as a wireless router by following the instructions that come with it. It took a little trial and error to get the Z-Wave feature to work. I'm using Smartthings and their app listed the

  • So far so good

There is no critical rating for this device. I am planning to use this with Alexa voice control in my home automation system but haven't started building the system yet. I tried to find adequate documentation on their help site. I found the online documentation to be quite extensive, but very few of them address the needs of users with deep technical knowledge. So be careful if you are a techie and need help from Samsung. Independent user forums may be a better choice. I think Samsung tech…

Nice but needs some work. Multiple problems.

I like the engineering of this system. The biggest problem is that it's a hybrid of previous Samsung systems. Again, the technology is good, but maintenance is problematic. When I look for problems, I usually end up solving a previous iteration. Although the solutions are similar, this new product should have its own support. It is good that it covers my 4 storey house well but with problems. Most of them relate to the small details of networking. Most elements on your network these days get a…
