Definitely brighter than I expected, but perfect!
Not very versatile as it doesn't run on batteries, but I like its brightness. I got it for an interview as I'm about to graduate and my laptop is in the position where I'm backlit so it worked perfectly for my lighting issue. I think I'd rather run on battery so I can have it everywhere in my room but to be honest I doubt I'll ever use it without my laptop so I guess I'll always have my laptop battery will have so I can connect it . In general I recommend.
