The bob is very easy to stabilize as it has a small pivot at the top that acts as a shock absorber for small bumps. The pin you drive into the wooden nails is fine, but the only mechanical connection is a hot plastic weld. So the first time I pulled it out of the wood, the pin broke off the nail bar. I fixed it with epoxy. The connections on the plastic spool were loose in places like most Chinese products and over time if dirt gets into these things the spool will clog and not work, I also had to fill the slots with epoxy. .It comes in a box designed for a different solder reel model, so the instructions don't help. But the bean alone costs almost $30 for the entire setup.
