Too bad I didn't know about mounting blocks for a long time. This would make setting up table saws and other tools much easier. It's such a simple idea: precision-engineered building blocks that can measure almost anything under a few inches. If an exact block, e.g. 1" is not available, simply stack the 3/4" and 1/4" blocks and you are good to go. These special blocks come in an unmarked plastic box with a foam inlay containing black aluminum blocks with easy to read dimensions on one side. I checked them with a micrometer and they were within 0.001 inch assuming the micrometer itself is accurate to that level. That's good enough for me!
