Review on 🌱 Ultum Nature Controsoil Substrate for Freshwater Planted Aquariums - Fine Black by Stacy Glasrud

Great for armored catfish! Amazing substrate!

Great substrate! You can't go wrong with this! The washed off substrate gets very muddy and messy which took me a lot of effort, it also made my aquarium very dirty and dusty all night but after four hours it was clear enough to add my fish back in. The water was crystal clear the next morning, I'll probably update in a few months to see if my plants are doing any better than the gravel they were in, but I have high hopes for this soil. This soil is ideal for soil feeders! I have an armored catfish and a rooster in a 10 gallon aquarium and now my measles like to stick their butt up to dig in the soil because it is so soft and light. I recommend it to all feeders who don't treat the bottom roughly, as the pellets can break and turn into small crumbs of dust or dirt. UPDATE: Still a really good substrate! I have added Ludwigia Repens to my aquarium and they have grown so quickly along with the chickweed I added a few weeks ago. My betta fish loves to rest on it and slip through the overgrown plants BUT the only thing is that the darkest shade it has is two or three shades lighter so black is brown and brown is brown. I have black-brown and it's a dirty tan-brown. It's totally fine for adding Fluval, but this is the best option if you wanted Fluval but wanted a larger bag.
