Read a number of reviews before you buy. I started with the bad ones. People complained about the lack of peak adjustment. Poor turning or difficulty turning the mechanism. Then I read some good reviews. I chose this product because of the good reviews. I'm happy to report that there is indeed a peak adjustment. People who say they don't are wrong. Is it stiff when it comes out of the box? Yes, to an extent, but that's easily done with a few drops of light oil at the tip and a few at the base of the pen. There is an Allen screw at the base of the handle that allows you to adjust the length of the flathead screwdriver. Loosen the Allen screw and move the knob in and out a few times to allow the oil to seep in. Then set the desired tip length and tighten the Allen screw. Ready. This is a great tool.
