Okay, here's my conclusion. You need a set-top box to use this recorder. The video quality is very good, much better than my Liteon (matte color) and a bit worse than my Panasonic (great color). I like multiple recording time options - compression is minimized. IMHO, that's all you need to have a great ride. I don't think you can beat the price! Search online video stabilizer GREX to find ESSENTIAL copyright discussion. It's been over 1 month for me. now and very satisfied knowing what I'm getting. I hope it lasts for many years so it's a good buy.
