I bought this to drain (most of) my 11,000 gallon pool. It took about 4.5 hours which is pretty cool for my book. I am very impressed with the pump, it was easy to set up and operate. The only problem I had, not the pump's fault, was the discharge line. I ended up needing an extra 50ft roll to get it to a point in my driveway for it to flow onto the street. I wanted to pour water into the cleaner, but when I tried, the pump volume was too big for that. I would definitely recommend buying this pump if you are going to drain your pool.
