Review on 🔨 BSI-201 Quik-Cure Epoxy by Bob Smith Industries - 4.5 oz. Combined, Clear by Christopher Sullivan

This epoxy is easy to use but in my experience it takes longer than expected to set and cure. When mixed, it is initially a thick liquid, similar to honey. After 5 minutes it will get thicker and stickier - that's about the maximum run time. After 1 hour it sets and gives decent strength but is still slightly soft and sticky/tough. In my experience, it takes several days for it to lose all of its softness and reach its final hardness and firmness. Just my experience - yours may vary. Aside from the longer than expected curing time, I'm happy with this epoxy. It adheres very well to glass; I put a small amount of product on the mirror which I couldn't chip off after 2 days. However, it didn't offer a consistent grip on most plastics I tried. Many plastics are notoriously difficult to bond and require a special plastic adhesive. The epoxy (black bottle) has little to no odor but the hardener (red bottle) has an awful smell which thankfully dissipates once the mix is fully cured. Tiny lids are easy to lose - they need to be tied down like plastic condiment bottles. This 2 part epoxy isn't cheap and quite difficult to mix, but compared to cyanoacrylate/superglue you get a huge amount for the money and it doesn't cure in the bottle - the shelf life is years. It can do some things that superglue, water-based glue and polyurethane glue cannot. Every time I come across a home makeover that needs it, I'm glad I have it.
