On paper, this is a good monitor for those who want to play ultra-wide games with decent picture quality and features without spending a ridiculous amount of money. The problem is that you have a monitor problem like I have. My monitor had an issue that caused it to flicker when Freesync was enabled. Regardless of settings, cables, GPU brand, etc. I always experienced flickering and stuttering when turning on what is probably the most important gaming feature for such a monitor. Failure happens, it's just part of life/shopping. The real problem lies with the Asus RMA/Service. I had to send the monitor twice to a 3rd party repair shop who are unable to test monitors. I had to write a detailed guide on how to at least enable freesync/gsync properly. Vsync is not the same! Even when I finally managed to get them to enable all the correct settings, the computer they used for testing could only run the gsync demo at 50-60Hz. This is not the 165 Hz that this monitor advertises. I said forget it after I sent it the second time I saw it. I don't know what Asus is doing to check their repair shops, but it doesn't work very well. So now I have a monitor that is not working as advertised, ie outside the return window for Revain (this process took forever) and left a bad taste of Asus products in my mouth. I do not recommend buying Asus just based on this experience. Sure, the products seem good, but don't expect them to endorse them. 11/27/21 - Revain allowed me to return the monitor but with a restocking fee so thanks to them. It's been a long time and I've been using a different brand monitor for a few months. Also, ratings.com mentions that other users are reporting the same issue.
