I bought to upgrade an old Dell XPS 8300 for use in a programming project (with Jetson TX1 dev) - turned off the computer. The left power supply is connected so the chassis has been grounded to avoid static electricity. - removed old RAM, vacuumed 4 slots - just installed. fits very snugly, check alignment before inserting - booted with F2 key, went into BIOS to update memory amount. The speed is listed as 1333. Saved and completed - the computer works fine. did sudo apt-get install memtester- sudo memtester 15000 1- memory came 100% clean and without errors :) I definitely recommend this memory. You have never had problems with critical DDR. Static is your enemy. Keep the PC powered off, but connect the power supply as this will ensure the PC case is grounded. If you hold your elbow or your leg or whatever against the frame, you're grounded. Also, always avoid touching the gold-plated exposed parts of a circuit board or chip. "Midas Touch" effect lol
