My wife and I enjoy the rural West Virginia countryside, but occasionally find ourselves in a downpour in a front-wheel drive sedan on dirt roads. So we bought a 2010 Nissan Murano LE with a 3.5L V6 and 4WD for our tours. Now we're less likely to get stuck in the mud. The used SUV just had a service so we drove about 5,000 miles before I installed the K&N filter and it was averaging 20.3 mpg a thousand miles before the change and a thousand miles after the change averaging 22.8 mpg which is 2, 5mpg is better when driving over roughly the same terrain and at roughly the same speed. Fuel consumption increased by 5-8%, but this time by 12.3%. Of course, K&N air filters will be installed in all my future cars.
