Read more about the process and glad I followed the advice of others. A stick gripper was a must, but you'll need some kind of vise; luckily i had one. The grapple release tool worked with no problems on the 15 racquets I repackaged. Suggest putting it right in at an angle next to the vise to avoid scratching the shank - another tip from generous bloggers.
