this kit is needed to mount the tank but my first attempt at mounting leaked at one of the 3 screw locations, thought of using plumbing putty but figured it was probably not necessary. No suggestions were mentioned or recommended on the packaging. So I took it apart and added putty around each screw head and fixed the leak. I don't necessarily blame the product as my cistern may have had its screws misplaced to prevent a proper seal, which is not usually present in all toilets. Otherwise works as advertised
