I bought a similar device (looks identical) on ebay for half the price but it came from China so shipping took a long time. I figured I'd pay another $5 here and get it in a few days. It arrived and I installed it and found to my dismay that unlike the other device, this one doesn't have fading up and down when turning on and off. It also doesn't fade out between dimming levels. The other block transitions smoothly from one setting to the next, giving a much more pleasing effect. When I flip the switch on this product or turn it on with the remote it goes to the set level instead of disappearing like a good 120v home dimmer. I'm saving that for another project, but since I have several of these hooked up to the same switch on my boat, it looks odd that some of the lights go off smoothly while the lights on this unit turn on and off instantly. So here you are basically paying more for less. Not a bad product for the price, but buyers beware, there is a better product out there for half the price.
