I got this to hang string lights for my deck and also for my gazebo. If you have this project in mind, this product is what you want. For best results, you will also need crimping clamps and loop sleeves. Since its coated with black vinyl, it is pretty inconspicuous.This stuff is quite strong, although not intended for lifting. It has a 90 lb. test and my needs will be far, far below that level.This is a project that I've wanted to get done for a few years and I've tinkered with some options, but finally decided to do it right and even got some awesome outdoor colored string lights. I'm looking forward to completing this once the weather improves.I deducted one star because the reel doesn't have a "wire stay" or catch to hold the end of the wire. Thus, the whole bloody thing wants to unwind! Yikes! Get tape ready to prevent that.This seems well made and should last for years. We'll see if the suns UV rays eat up the vinyl coating.
