I hesitated to buy a shelf online because I'm a spectator and don't rate well, but the size of this shelf has become great. I wanted it to be for plants so I needed to be able to get to the top shelf easily. I assembled it myself in 30 minutes. As long as you know how to count, you will have no problem connecting the pieces that stabilize the shelves. Tools are not required. The hard part was deciding how much space I wanted between layers.
