great unit! on DVD-VCR Combos

I purchased two (2) Panasonic P-DM2799 (TV/VCR/DVD/FM Combo) units for my school. Being so happy with their performance, I had to use the Panisonic PV-D4762 as a standalone device. I have to say that both products have served us well in a K-8 school with 350 students. They work well, I LOVE the ability to read the VCD and most importantly they have held up to the wear and tear they take from being used multiple times a day 186 days a year.

Early Break Down PV-D4762 DVD/VCR Combo

I just bought this unit and only used it for 2 weeks when it didn't accept VCRs. If you insert them, they will be ejected immediately and not loaded. Now I have to send the device in the mail for repairs. While it worked, I don't think the VCR was as good as many Panasonic VCRs I have or have had in the past. The recordings on the EP are a bit snowy even if they were recorded by Direct TV. I also had trouble playing a tape recorded on another Panasonic VCR. I don't know if this is a reflection…

Panasonic PV-D4762 DVD-VCR Combo Review

This DVD-VCR combo is a replacement for a similar unit that I bought new in 2001 and used safely for five years before bringing it in for service - unfortunately the dealer suddenly went broke and i could never return the device. I've been looking for a similar device ever since, but most manufacturers have now removed the tuner from their VCRs (included in this box), which is a critical factor if you don't have a cable. This device also offers three-speed recording and playback: SP/LP/EP…

Winning Combination

I've had this DVD/VCR combo for a few weeks now and I can say I'm very impressed. I have a DVD-Video connected to a home theater receiver using an S-Video connection. The receiver itself also connects to my 32" TV via an S-Video connection. The picture on the DVD is fantastic! I've played several DVDs, some with complex content (like The Matrix, Star Wars Episode I), and This set worked flawlessly. No nasty digital artifacts that I could see. The set also offers a component video connection…
