Purchased to replace a Speedstream 5100 with an AT&T DSL. Below are the steps I took to get this working. Note that this method will result in the DLink modem going into "bridged" mode and all firewall and DHCP protection will be the responsibility of the router. Here are my settings: PC --> Wireless router --> DLink DSL modem --> Phone line - The router is running dd-wrt firmware. My order of installation is: 1) connect power and phone line to the DSL modem, but do not turn it on yet 2) connect the router to power, turn it on 3) configure the router for PPPoE with the correct username and password 4) connect the DSL modem to the router, which is already activated. 5) Finally switch on the DSL modem at this point. Every PC connected to the router now has DSL Internet. In my experience, this one transmits at the same maximum speed as the old modem, but the response time and burst speed are much faster. It also appears to be more resilient to line noise.
