The flexibility to scale up or down capacity is great, along with the ability to create VM templates to use across multiple environments. There are some areas that could be improved. If you need more capacity than what is provided by default in vSphere then you will have to either buy additional licenses, or run the instance at a lower level of resource utilization. We've been able to do both things when we needed to. We used it primarily for development workflows using containers, and for testing workflows using VMs.
