I have a 10 gallon aquarium with lots of plants. I have found that some plants are doing well while others are not as we would like them to be. I found this product with a simple Google search. 48 hours later I had it. Since this is an inset tank, I used a strainer to drain the liquid and then tried to carefully place the substrate in the tank. Before doing this though, I removed a small amount of the original gravel and moved it to another pool. I didn't want to shock the aquarium by removing all the old gravel and good bacteria. The instructions say to gently blend them with your finger. The difficulty with this product is that it makes your water really cloudy for a good half of the day. I installed mine in one day and it probably took a full 24 hours or more to completely erase. It was difficult to tell exactly where to place the substrate due to the cloudiness. I have photos documenting the cleaning process. My plants seem to like it already. I have a red variety and I think it looks very earthy, natural and inviting. I've only used part of the bag and the rest is wasted until I fully figured out what to do with it. If you have Corey, you will love it. In fact, all of my fish seem to be more active. A tip: After the clouds have cleared, rinse the filter. I was very happy with the packaging of the product. I know it's rich stuff. Really highly recommended. It would be great if the water didn't get cloudy, so I'm hesitant to add more.
