I love using straws and my kids do too, but I hate using plastic because I know how wasteful it is and how bad it is for the environment. I can't wait for all companies to switch to greener options, and I'm not a fan of paper straws either. So I decided that reusable metal straws would be the best option. I can keep them in my purse and easily take them to restaurants. They are a good weight, very strong, very durable and look great. I love that they come with an angled set and a straight set, and that they come with their own little velvet pouch to store the straws, and the brushes are great for cleaning. I usually take them to the bathroom and rinse them out before leaving the restaurant so things like soda don't dry out and get stuck in the straw. That being said, I've never had the color that came off the straw on the brushes when I cleaned them at home. If you are new to using metal straws, they may seem a little different at first. Cold drinks feel colder because they also cool the straw. Also, if you hit your lip, gums, or even your teeth, it can hurt since they're metal, but you'll get used to it quickly. Many of them will have the metallic taste that the first pair used (even if you wash them well first) but either it stops or you get used to the taste. I don't know which. As a bonus, I actually got the 9th straw in my pack, but I also asked for silver and got either gold or rose gold (not sure what that is) and I don't mind using both, and I agree with the straw I just thought I should mention.
