I was hoping to find a system that didn't use a watch-style mobile receiver and it was one of the few I found in Zone. Oh how disappointed I was! The range is much less than stated. Within our 50 foot home, the range is about 25 feet. I don't know if it's battery power or just transmitter power. Unless the two ends are essentially in the next room, I find it useless. The setup frustrates me too - pairing the transmitter seems to reset the ringer, and resetting the ringer disables the transmitter. Sorry but this is another case where you get what you pay for.
