I've had just over a week. Shredded about 15 baskets of various media: whole envelopes with mail sealed inside, stapled piles of paper, plastic credit cards, and several CD-Rs. Works fast, easily picks up large slips of paper. Never overheats, but when I use it intensively, the fan turns on and off by itself. I have no idea how it will last, but so far it's been great. I spent a little more on this model for speed and more concurrent pages. So far it's been a good investment, it's taken everything I've fed. It also has an easily accessible physical power button. So you can leave it on Auto but turn off the power button and leave it plugged in so it won't draw power for a month when not in use. It's a nice touch.
