Review on πŸ”₯ Ultimate Glasslock 18-Piece Oven Safe Container Set: Assorted Sizes for Every Kitchen Need by Eli Cooper

Warning! Another case of broken glass in the food!

I do not recommend Glasslock brand glassware. I (and many others) found thin and extremely dangerous pieces of glass in the products stored in these containers. The quality of the glass is such that with normal use, sharp shards of glass can break off and be easily swallowed... and in the digestive tract! Earlier this week I reheated leftovers stored in one of these pieces in the oven. When I started to eat my first bite, I felt like I was biting into something hard and sharp. I immediately spat out a piece, thinking it was a piece of chicken bone. I took another bite and felt something unusual sticking in my gums between my teeth. My mouth immediately started bleeding profusely. I'm very, very, very glad I didn't swallow (at least I hope I didn't). I ran to the bathroom and was very shocked to see blood pouring profusely from my mouth. I tried rinsing my mouth out and every time I spat it was full of blood. It was absolutely shocking and awful. Upon further investigation, I discovered one of the sources of blood flow in the center of my tongue. It bled rapidly and continuously. Finally, after stopping the bleeding, I returned to the table to inspect my plate and found an extremely dangerous piece of glass between the dishes that looked like a needle or razor. I was stunned and still am. Looking through online reviews of Glasslock products, I found that I'm not the first to find broken glass in their food. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN MORE THAN ONCE BEFORE A RECALL? This is extremely dangerous. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I SWALLOWED A SHARD OF GLASS? Scary to think. We had several ready meals stored in these containers and had to throw them all out which is a real shame and waste. As we are aware of the serious danger of this brand of product, we do not even want to touch the food in these containers. I also have pain in my tongue and gums where I was deeply punctured by glass splinters from a container. Again, I'm completely stunned to learn that I'm not the first person to come across broken glass in food with this product, and that Glasslock is still giving it away in a big way to customers and families to keep using it. Even after that injury and (and food waste!) I understand it was a SUCCESSFUL result! I really hope I didn't swallow the broken glass and don't shudder at the thought of internal damage or worse I would suffer if I did. It was a very possible outcome. WHY IS THIS PRODUCT STILL ON THE MARKET? Glasslock puts people's health and safety at risk. See attached photos of one of at least 3 shards found in my food. And no, it's not ketchup. I had to take a picture of how much blood was in the sink. Well, I'm so glad I didn't actually swallow the glass. I am done with this product and this brand. Pyrex is probably the best choice. Their brand is reputable, over a century old, and made in the USA, unlike glasslock jars that are made in Korea. Pyrex looks cheaper too. I should add that when contacting Glasslock they were slow to respond and showed little concern about the major dangers associated with their glassware. This glassware is extremely dangerous and I hope this review will save others the same experience I had or possibly a lot worse!
