I bought a 2TB WD SN850 and a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro. The plan was to install W10 on Samsung and games on WD (not flooded yet). Willy-nilly, Samsung installed it in the m.2 slot closest to the processor, and WD in the farthest slot. Didn't know then that it matters. As a result, Samsung has a read speed of around 7000 while WD has around 6000. The bottom line is that it matters which m.2 slot the drive is plugged into. Whether to change? .. not decided. When I do this, my Samsung just gets a slower speed. However, both have excellent performance, so we'll leave it as is for now. The loading time is fast. Finish sleep 4-5 seconds. Games load pretty fast. Happy with everything around.
