I have this unit and bought it after looking at many others. I bought this mainly to use SATA drives. I've burned 100 discs on it so far and not a single bad burn. I mainly recorded DVDs, dual layer DVDs and CDs. You can choose write speed, read speed, etc. Here's a tip to save a few bucks, but it will likely void your warranty. You can install your own SATA hard drive in this device, so the duplication can write data from the internal hard drive instead of the read-only SATA drive. All connections are in the device, all you need is a SATA cable. VERY easy to do. After you've installed your hard drive, you can format it and you're good to go. You can then copy the image to your internal hard drive and give it a name for convenience. I'm actually glad I opened the unit up as some of the cables on the SATA drives weren't tight and were probably disconnected in transit. Highly recommended, but the device is quite loud due to the fans. You don't have to wait between warm-ups to cool down as the fans move a large amount of air through the device.
