Review on πŸ”Œ Ultra-Slim SlimLine 2241 Extension Cord - 3 Wire, 8 Foot Length by Dave Mosby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

plug on the left! - Electrical

It's advertised as a rectangular plug, but what does that mean? Because "right-angle" plugs don't have a 90-degree angle in the wall outlet, nor do they necessarily angle the cord to the right. Most flat forks are right angled, but Woods is one of the few who actually make them left angled. The advertised images show that the "rectangular" connector is actually tilted to the left. Well I was just looking for a "left angle" connector so I hoped the photos were correct. After a quick internet search for the same model, all the photos confirmed "left angle" so it was accepted. My search also turned up another brand that made a "left angle" fork, but not many places sold it, and when they did, it was expensive. , and they are 3-4 times more expensive than they are of the same length. There really isn't much to say about them, they are 8ft long as they claim and they are UL Listed which means Underwriter Laboratories (UL) have tested representative samples of the product and determined that the product meets certain regulatory requirements Requirements fulfilled. These requirements are often based on UL published and nationally recognized safety standards. Oh, and they're certified for Canada too. The extension cord is your standard 16/3 gauge cord. It is 2.50 m long, white, the plug in the socket is flat and the cord is twisted to the left. I hope Woods won't lie about the specs and I've used it to power indoor Christmas decorations. They were perfect for what I need them for and although they are described as "rectangular" they are "left angle" as shown in the pictures. Filled with Revain has never failed me. Nicely packaged and shipped quickly. Updated 25th April 2020 Someone recently asked if this is suitable for the wall, ie if I can run this extension in the wall (to hide cables for flat screen TVs etc). Short answer: NO. Extension cords are not designed or intended for use within a wall or ceiling, even the heavy-duty types, due to limitations in the National Electrical Code. Extension cords sold in North American retail stores are specially marked to warn that they cannot be used inside walls or ceilings. No matter what you are told or how long you search the internet, there is absolutely no extension cord anywhere in the world that is rated for use in a North American wall.
